In Victoria and Abdul, Judy Dench plays the aging Queen Victoria, a lonely widow after the death of her husband Prince Albert.
In 1887, the year of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, a handsome young Indian clerk traveled from India to present the queen with a ceremonial coin. The two of them strike up an unlikely friendship that causes jealousy and creates enemies within the Royal Household.
