SYNOPSIS FOR: The Last Word
Shirley MacLaine and Amanda Seyfried star in the comedy film, The Last Word. Harriet is an 81 year old retired businesswoman who likes to be in control of everything in her life, so much so, that she even wants to control what is written in her obituary.
She hires a young journalist to do the research but when obit writer Anne makes contact with the people who know Harriet, she has difficulty finding anyone that likes the woman. Hence the humorous tagline “she puts the bitch in obituary”. When the first draft doesn’t meet Harriet’s high expectations she sets out to reshape how she will be remembered.
On this journey, Anne finds out the truth about Harriet’s character and her attitude changes from annoyance to admiration culminating in a life-altering friendship.
