SYNOPSIS FOR: American Made

Tom Cruise stars in American Made, an entertaining true story set in the 1980s. Cruise plays Barry Seal, an TWA airline pilot, who lands a dream job flying over central America taking spy photos of freedom fighters and terrorists for the CIA.

The job soon morphs into big business carrying arms and drugs between the US and Central America, all under the protection of the CIA, DEA and the White House. Barry realizes that he is dealing with some very dangerous criminals and that his situation is very precarious.

When he was eventually arrested, he cut a deal to incriminate the bigger players.
