SYNOPSIS FOR: Live by Night
Ben Affleck stars and directs Live by Night a old fashioned gangster movie set in the days of Prohibition. The movie is based on a novel, by the same name, written by Dennis Lehane. Joe Coughlin, the son of a Boston police captain, moves to Ybor City Tampa Florida in search of the American dream.
Recognizing the opportunity for money and power in bootlegging, he turns his back on his strict upbringing and moral fortitude when he comes up against the world of organized crime. Once a believer that powerful men don’t have to be cruel, he suddenly finds himself pulled into a life he didn’t expect.
