SYNOPSIS FOR: The Second Mother
Val is a hard-working live-in housekeeper in Sao Paulo, Brazil who is content to take care of the needs of her wealthy employers and act as surrogate mother to their teenage son who she has raised since he was a toddler. Life is thrown into chaos when her estranged daughter Jessica shows up. Cohabitation proves difficult as she refuses to accept the unspoken class barriers that exist in the home. Putting relationships and loyalties to the test she forces everyone to reconsider the true meaning of family.
